Craft Shows & Fairs in Sisters, Oregon

Sisters is a small town — about 2,500 people — with a craft event reputation that reaches around the world.

Every July, the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show draws international visitors to see more than 1,300 quilts displayed on downtown buildings, fences, and storefronts along Cascade Avenue. It's free to attend. It happens on one single Saturday.

It is widely recognized as the world's largest outdoor quilt show.

Sisters' Craft Show Scene

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show takes place on July 11, 2026.

More than 1,300 quilts from artists around the world are hung on buildings throughout downtown Sisters for one day. The quilts are attached to storefronts, draped over railings, displayed on every available surface of the town's Western-facade buildings.

Admission is free.

The event is produced by The Stitchin' Post — a family-owned quilt shop that Jean Wells opened on May 23, 1975. Still operating, still family-owned, and still the heart of the Pacific Northwest quilting community.

Quilter's Affair runs July 6–10, 2026 — the week before the Quilt Show.

It is a week-long intensive workshop series at Sisters High School. Thirty-six teachers lead 1,200 students from around the world through classes in:

  • Quilting and traditional piecing
  • Fabric dyeing and surface design
  • Barn quilt painting
  • Hand stitching and embroidery
  • Glass art and contemporary fiber arts

One of the most significant annual fiber arts education events in the United States.

Sisters Farmers Market runs weekly through summer and fall.

Locally made foods, artisanal goods, and handmade crafts from Central Oregon producers and makers. The market reflects Sisters' Western heritage — local honey, farmstead goods, handmade leather and wood items, regional produce.

Sisters Rodeo (second weekend of June) is known as "the biggest little show in the world."

One of the best-attended rodeos in Oregon. Includes a vendor marketplace with artisan and commercial booths alongside the rodeo events.

Sisters Folk Festival (September) brings music and craft vendors together for a weekend event in downtown Sisters.

The town's artisan shops — jewelry, pottery, leather goods, photography, gallery items — are open year-round along Cascade Ave. The Western-facade building code that gives every downtown structure a frontier aesthetic makes the whole street feel like a curated experience.
