Event Verification Policy
Last updated September 14, 2026
Every event listing records where its information came from and when it was last checked. At the bottom of each listing you will see one of the labels below, plus the source link and check date when we have them.
What the labels mean
- Verified
- We confirmed the dates and location against an official source — usually the event's own website or the host venue — or directly with the organizer. The verification date is shown.
- Submitted by the organizer
- The organizer provided the details. A person reviews every submission before it is published, but we have not independently confirmed each detail.
- Third-party source
- The details come from a public source other than the organizer, such as a tourism or fair association calendar. We link to that source.
- Needs review
- Something about the listing may have changed — for example the official website no longer loads, or sources disagree. Confirm with the organizer before you travel or apply.
- Outdated
- We have not been able to re-confirm the details for a long time. The listing stays visible with a warning until it is updated or removed.
Unknown details
If an organizer or source has not provided a detail, the listing says "Not provided by organizer". We never fill gaps with assumptions — an empty admission field does not mean the event is free.
Cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events
Cancelled events stay listed with a clear "Cancelled" notice so people who planned to attend can see the change. Postponed events are marked until a new date is confirmed. Rescheduled events show the new dates and the originally scheduled date.
Recurring events
We do not copy last year's dates forward. A future edition is only listed once its dates are announced by the organizer or an official source. Until then we say the next date has not yet been confirmed.
Keeping listings current
When a date, venue, admission price, application deadline or official link cannot be confirmed, we flag the listing as needing review instead of silently changing it.
Organizers: updating a listing
Organizers with an account can edit their draft listings from their dashboard. For changes to a published listing, or to take over a listing we added, email us from an address connected to the event with a link to the official source. Contact us.
