The Maxwell Street Market is a City of Chicago market presented by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events on select Sundays, held on Maxwell Street between S. Halsted St. and S. Union Ave. Visitors find an eclectic mix of foods and finds including handmade crafts, resale housewares and clothing. The 2026 edition also features live entertainment and programming from cultural partners and incorporates nearby long-standing neighborhood businesses and restaurants. Admission is free and market hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
