How this is calculated
- Cost to make = materials + (minutes ÷ 60 × hourly wage) + overhead.
- Wholesale price = cost × wholesale multiplier.
- Retail price = wholesale × retail multiplier.
- Card fee = retail × card fee % + fixed fee per sale.
Doubling cost to get wholesale, then doubling wholesale to get retail, is a common starting point for makers who may also sell to shops — it leaves room for a shop's markup without undercutting your own retail price. Adjust the multipliers to fit your market; the point is to pay yourself for your time instead of pricing on materials alone.
